ABOUT US

Kingfisher Media was established in 2006. We publish an impressive portfolio of high-quality, beautifully-designed visitor guides to cities and regions around the UK and Ireland. The guides are placed in the bedrooms of leading hotels in each area, and remain there for 12 months. The guides are funded by advertising sales to companies who are keen to market their products to visitors and tourists. Our advertisers include restaurants, shops, attractions, art galleries & museums, bars & nightclubs, etc. Many of our advertisers get a fantastic response to their adverts in our books – you can see some of their comments on our testimonials page.

Our portfolio currently stands at more than 40 titles and we’re adding more titles in the next 12 months.

 

Senior Account Managers

Based at Team Valley, Gateshead. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director. £30k starting salary, quarterly pay reviews for ambitious salespeople, uncapped bonus potential, 6 weeks’ annual holiday plus Bank Holidays.

THE ROLE

To be considered for this role you will have a proven track record of presenting to, and securing sales from, senior decision-makers. You will be capable of generating new business and managing your own workload. As a Senior Account Manager with Kingfisher Media you will be involved in selling print and digital media solutions to both new and existing clients across the UK & Ireland. Excellent communication skills are key, along with an organised approach and (of course) a confident, professional and articulate manner. You will be responsible for identifying potential new advertisers in addition to developing core business with existing customers. You will be just as tenacious in securing a quarter-page advert from a small rural teashop as you are negotiating a high-value package with leading advertising agencies and corporate brands. You will demonstrate confidence in your products and in presenting opportunities – you’ll be the sort of person who is excited at the prospect of pitching a £10,000 campaign, and not be afraid to tie down the order. If you already have experience in retail advertising sales, it’s certainly an advantage as some of our most successful Account Managers have come from local newspapers and magazines. Experience in digital media is also an advantage but, again, not essential. We provide effective and ongoing training but we’re not in the habit of teaching grandma to suck eggs, so we fully respect individuals with experience who are happy to hit the ground running. THE REWARDS 

Our policy is simple – we’ll pay you what you’re worth, with absolutely no upper limits! Our salary structure is graded and linked to a weekly sales target which is appropriate to your ability. Starting salaries are negotiable dependant on experience but you can expect to join the company at £30k basic. And there’s no need to stand still for long - we offer a quarterly pay review for ambitious salespeople and have no cap on the salary level which will increase for the best salespeople. We offer a very advantageous bonus structure and there is no limit on commission payments – we’re always delighted to pay big commission pay-outs because if you’re doing well, it means we’re doing well, too! In addition, we offer a generous 6 weeks paid holiday plus Bank Holidays and every weekend off.

 

Junior Account Managers

Based at Team Valley, Gateshead. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director. Quarterly pay reviews for ambitious salespeople, uncapped bonus potential, 6 weeks’ annual holiday plus Bank Holidays.

THE ROLE

Are you currently working in a call-centre, or other sales environment, but feel you’re ready to take a step up into the fast-moving world of media? Are you working hard on a low salary and unachievable bonus structure, and have ambitions to move up the sales ladder as part of a professional, ethical sales team?  If so, have a look at the job description above for Senior Telesales Managers – that’s where we want you to progress to, with a higher basic salary, uncapped commission, and generous holiday entitlements.

THE REWARDS

Our lower salary level is £18k, but you can quickly move up our salary scales, and we’d be very happy if you’re quickly on a salary of £30k-plus! Again, see the Senior Telesales Executives details in the paragraph above – that’s what you’ll be aiming for.

 

Senior Account Manager, Republic of Ireland

THE ROLE

To be considered for this role you will already be based in the RoI and will have a proven track record of presenting to senior decision-makers. You will also be capable of generating new business and managing your own workload. As a Senior Account Manager you will be involved in selling advertising space to both new and existing clients. Excellent communication skills are key, along with an organised approach and (of course) a confident articulate telephone manner. As  we roll out or product across Ireland you will be responsible for identifying potential advertisers. You will be just as tenacious in securing a quarter-page advert from a small rural teashop as you are negotiating a high-value package with leading advertising agencies and corporate brands. And you won’t be scared of big numbers – you’ll be the sort of person who is excited at the prospect of pitching a €10,000+ series order, and you’ll be confident in putting together appropriate print and digital packages, and presenting them to senior decision-makers with authority and purpose. If you have experience in advertising sales, that’s an advantage but some of our best staff  have come from other backgrounds. Experience in digital/online sales is also an advantage but, again, is not essential. We provide effective and ongoing training, so if you can sell and you’ve got the qualities we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you?

THE REWARDS

Our policy is simple – we’ll pay you what you’re worth, with absolutely no upper limits! Our salary structure is graded and linked to a weekly sales target which is appropriate to you. You can start on €32-€34k if you wish, and move up the salary scale gradually. But if you’re a high-flyer and feel you can justify a high basic salary, we’ll pay you over €40k basic. There is also no upper limit on commission payments – we’re always delighted to pay big commission payouts because if you’re doing well it means we’re doing well, too!

 

Holidays

Every staff member, junior or senior, gets a generous 30 days’ holiday a year (not including Bank Holidays). This includes a two-week shutdown at Christmas, giving you a chance to unwind properly. We’re not one of those companies who think they’re doing you a favour if they let you leave an hour early on Christmas Eve! If you’ve worked hard all year, shown dedication and loyalty, and helped our company do well, we’ll reward you.
